Over 28 years and 700 plus organizations, Mike McCall has provided risk assessments and training to universities, colleges, pro sports franchises, secondary schools, religious institutions and governmental and other public entities. Mike understands the devastating effects on people and communities when institutions fail to adequately protect against harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, bullying, hazing, emotional abuse, physical misconduct and retaliation.
A recognized expert with national insurance providers for employment practices liability, sexual misconduct, and general liability risks, Mike often is engaged as an authority for organizations that have experienced a severe loss or high number of claims in order to assess policies and practices and make risk management and underwriting recommendations. Mike is the author of the “Employment Practices Resource Manual”, an anti-bias training program titled "Differences Without Division" and has developed and facilitated training programs on conducting investigations.
Mike studied law at Oxford University in Great Britain, earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and graduated with a BA from the University of Oklahoma as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. As a student-athlete, he was team captain of the Oklahoma state champion Bishop McGuinness basketball team.

Kathryn Statz brings a rare combination of intercollegiate athletics as well as Title IX administrative expertise to her work with PFA. Her on-campus roles at DePaul University have included Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Gender Equity Investigator, and campus-wide Director of the Office of Gender Equity/Title IX Coordinator.
Kathryn joined the PFA team in 2017 and her experience in working with student-athletes, coaches and staff gave her immediate ability to connect and listen. She is able to call upon her prior roles supervising and working shoulder-to-shoulder with multiple head coaches at both DePaul University and Marquette University, as well as interfacing with hundreds of student-athlete leaders. Kathryn's background also includes extensive policy review and development, from writing Student-Athlete handbooks, compliance documents and forms to responding to directives from the United States Department of Education relating to Title IX expectations. Kathryn also was appointed to and remains a member of the State of Illinois Task Force on Campus Sexual Misconduct Climate Surveys.
Kathryn began her athletics career at the NCAA as an enforcement intern and became a full-time investigator thereafter. She earned her J.D. from Marquette University.

Melissa understands the best practices in the higher education, secondary education and athletics industries. She identifies gaps, shortfalls and disparities in practices and policies and recommends enhancements and practical solutions for the client.

Over his 39-year career in risk management, Mark’s employment practices training and consulting solutions have impacted a variety of institutions, including universities, colleges, professional sports franchises, secondary schools, educational services districts, and other public entities. He is an expert in developing risk management solutions addressing coach/teacher/employee-to-student and student-to-student harassment, discrimination, bullying, emotional abuse, violence and sexual misconduct.
After teaching high school and college football for 25 years, Mark understands how to lead a team and create a strong team of leaders. Mark’s presentation style reflects his understanding of athletics organizations, “Student-athletes, coaches, athletics administrators and staff can sniff out trainers that don’t understand their unique culture and environments. The trainer must help clarify what constitutes behaviors that can land the organization in court and in the headlines, without trying to sterilize the athletic, educational or work environments.”

David Mines has a 25-plus year career working with institutions at the high school, HBCU, FCS, and FBS levels within athletics. His professional experience has included working with industry leaders at NCAA, conference, and collegiate campuses. David has participated in numerous leadership programs such as the NCAA Leadership Institute, D1A Athletics Directors Program, Cook Ross Unconscious Bias Training, and Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training.
His extensive career in collegiate athletics include leadership roles in compliance, human resources, Title IX, sport supervision, and diversity among other areas, making him uniquely tuned in to the complex issues athletics organizations must navigate to be successful. David has collaborated with state, community, and campus organizations to help foster safe and inclusive environments for everyone, but especially student-athletes, coaches, and staffs.
Mines received his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1997 followed by a master’s and doctorate in Higher Ed Administration in 1999 and 2016 respectively, all from Auburn University.

JT Bruett has had a 25-plus year career in Division I athletics as an administrator and coach. His professional career in collegiate athletics includes leadership roles as a Division I baseball coach, Director of Athletic Compliance, as well as a Director of Academics, making him very familiar with complex human relations issues that occur in Division I collegiate athletics. JT has served on various NCAA, B1G Ten Conference, and campus committees in his career and has participated in campus educational programming in the areas of racial justice, sexual harassment and discrimination, and other human relations risks.
In addition, JT is a former Big Ten baseball student-athlete and spent eight years playing professional baseball, including parts of two years in the Major Leagues with the Minnesota Twins. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in 1993 and his Master’s degree in Sport Administration from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2001.
