The only way an institution can be protected is to show that every reasonable measure has been taken to provide protection for all: student-athletes, coaches and staff.  It is more critical than ever to demonstrate that objective programs have been implemented in advance to prevent, identity and properly address misconduct.  

When people in an institution are subjected to misconduct, they are often uncertain about whether they will be protected if they raise concerns.  Because of actual or perceived conflicts of interests, a student-athlete or staff member may not feel comfortable reporting to designated resources within the athletics department or broader campus.  PFA Consulting helps break down these barriers by working both with athletics and campus-wide personnel to conduct an independent assessment of the resources available.  Thereafter, through training our non-conflicted consultants can promote these resources for all in the athletics department. 

An institution may have outstanding personnel, policies and processes, but there is no substitute for having those verified by independent professionals with experience in working with many universities around the country.  The courage to engage professionals from outside of the institution results in the workforce and students trusting that problems will be addressed promptly and equitably by internal resources.
